"The beautiful" was the name that the ancient Greeks had given to Corsica, but time seems not to have passed and the name is still more than valid. There are not many corners of the Mediterranean in which to find such transparent water, soft white sand, vertiginous cliffs and at the same time evocative landscapes, valleys, forests and mountains covered with snow even in the height of summer. 8 days in September, intense, accompanied by truly splendid weather, 10 minutes of scarce rain, with no notes taken, even if there was really a lot to write.
8 days, with a group of eight people where, I must admit, I enjoyed driving, sniffing restaurants, hunting for roads, secluded beaches where to swim. I could write pages, talking about the fantastic restaurant in A Flatta, above Calenzana, about the fantastic eating of seafood on the stilts of the Aux Coquillages de Diana restaurant overlooking the Etang de Diane, about the negotiation with the madam owner of the Le Florida hotel in lost Zicavo, ending with a slap on the cheek but with the discount obtained, the beauty of the beach of Salleccia in the Agriates desert, the incredible roads of Balagne and Castagniccia, the Col de Scalella to get to Bastelica, the forest of Coti Chiavari , of the Inzecca Defilè, and end with the wonderful evenings spent with a close-knit group, or publish only the photos.
Be satisfied with the photos !!!
On the last evening, back on the continent, before breaking up the group, we allowed ourselves the usual evening of Chianina meat at the Badia di Moscheta, Tuscany, Ferdinand dedicated the first toast to Corsica: "An extraordinary place!"
It is really true, "the most beautiful" once again bewitched everyone.
Goodbye Kalliste !!
