And this too happened: blocked roads, collapsed bridges, a fortunately non-serious physical inconvenience, unfortunately an accident due to carelessness, fortunately without serious consequences, full of diesel... a bit of everything happened considering the tour was the usual weekend extended to Thursday. But this surprising Friuli came to the rescue with astonishing landscapes and spectacular roads, even when road closures forced participants to substantially modify the itinerary—what roads!! Introducing the trip, I wrote: "A treasure chest nestled between the sea and the mountains. One of the most mysterious regions in Italy, waiting to be discovered, perhaps rediscovered." We far exceeded expectations!! To crown the event, a diverse, close-knit, and surprisingly large group. To be honest, I was quite tired—perhaps age now affects fatigue—but I definitely had a great time in pleasant company. Thank you, friends.
For those who signed up for Tunisia, we'll see you in less than a month in Civitavecchia. For the rest, we'll be back at our usual New Year's Eve dinner on Saturday, December 28th.
For our food and wine weekends, the next one is in March, from the 20th to the 23rd, when we'll be heading to Tuscany, hunting for dirt roads.
Heartfelt thanks again to all our friends who attended:
